Violet Skin Boutique Announces New Coolidge Corner Location
Brookline will soon have a local source for fresh, all natural skin care products and services
On August XX, 2008 Violet Skin Boutique, a popular Boston spot for all natural skin care services and products, will be opening a second location at 1362 Beacon Street in Brookline. Violet’s award winning signature facials, massages and body treatments will now be available in Coolidge Corner.
The new site will also feature a store-front where customers can browse and sample Violet’s all natural skin care products, including the recently launched Viola baby product line.
Violet’s products are highly effective combining natural ingredients such as organic egg yolk, rose syrup, honey, oatmeal and pure essential oils. Each product is created to meet the unique needs of Violet’s customers, whether it is reversing the affects of sun damage and environmental aggressors, treating acne or reducing wrinkles and fine lines.
Violet’s signature facials are customized with a freshly prepared mask and include a luxury European face, neck and décolleté massage.
The 1,400 square foot boutique spa will offer the same relaxing, serene atmosphere customers currently enjoy at the Newbury Street location, including fresh flowers and hand-made scented candles. The spa's goal is to offer relaxing result oriented spa services using only pure, natural and organic products.
“We are excited to bring Natural and organic skincare products and services to the Brookline neighborhood,” says Managing Partner Rousanna Gevondian. “We feel that Brookline is the perfect place for us to open a new organic spa. The demographics of the area are an excellent fit for our audience, and we believe our organic boutique spa and store concept will fill a critical void in the area for high-end organic products and services that contain none of the potentially harmful synthetic ingredients used by most major skincare companies.”
The boutique’s name sake, Violet Mkhitaryan, takes a holistic approach to skin care, consulting with clients and providing them with recipes that will help nourish their skin from the inside.
Violet has an advanced degree in biochemistry and over 30 years of experience in aesthetics. “The ingredients you put on your skin are as important as what you put in your body,” says Violet.
Violet Skin Boutique, which celebrates its fourth anniversary this summer, is run by Mkhitaryan’s daughters, Rousanna and her twin sister Susanna.
The sisters were both Registered Nurses when they decided to return to school for MBAs with a concentration in Healthcare Management. They attended Boston Universities’ School of Management while continuing to work as nurses full-time.
Along the way their plans changed and, partially out of a frustration with the health care system, the sisters decided they wanted to help keep people well, rather than treat them when they are sick. With their career goals altered, the girls came up with the idea of helping their mother realize her dream of opening her own skin care boutique.
“It was always her dream to have her own place where she can practice her philosophy and use her products to help people,” says Rousanna, who is delighted with the boutique’s success.
The fast-growing organic spa company, with its flagship location on Newbury Street in Boston has received rave reviews. Violet won Citysearch's Best Facial four years in a row and was awarded Best Facial, Best Wax and Best Massage by Boston Magazine. In the past year Violet was included in national publications such as InStyle Magazine and Every Day with Rachel Ray.
